I am a registered art therapist and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the Lakeview area of Chicago with over 10 years of experience. After graduating from Pratt Institute with a Masters in Art Therapy, I have practiced both art therapy and traditional psychotherapy with a wide variety of clients including children, adolescents, adults and couples. I have worked in many different settings including a residential facility, inpatient detox facility, and an out patient mental health clinic. I specialize in treating mood disorders, trauma, anxiety, behavioral problems and life transitions, identity and intimacy issues. I currently work as a consultant for Positive Sobriety Institute, a facility that is part of Northwstern Memorial hospital, specializing in helping professionals with substance abuse issues.
My approach is compassionate, direct, interactive and caring. I operate from a relational, trauma informed model that is both collaborative and non-pathologizing. I work with diverse populations and I am culturally sensitive to issues regarding race, religion, sexuality and sexual orientation. I often incorporate mindfulness and creativity into my practice, as I strive to understand and treat each person's needs wholistically. I believe that a trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation of our work together, and can serve as a template for supporting you in achieving inner well-being. Together we will help you find more effective and rewarding ways of dealing with life’s challenges and so that you will feel more rewarded in your relationships and can engage in your life to it’s fullest.
